Olivier on 2023:
I think will be good – 30-35 hl/ha and maybe better balanced, less sunny, than the wines of 2022 – a bit less alcohol too. I’m very happy with the vintage – they fermented okay too. We didn’t take risks and we sulfured – no deviances!

Olivier on 2022:
Our first vintage organic. We were more in the region of 25-30 hl/ha due to our sandy, south-facing, old vine, parcels with too much sun and not enough rain. We often didn’t go out in the afternoons as it was so hot! But what’s normal or not these days? We had to be more vigilant in the cuverie as we had a bit higher alcohols but all was in control. Yes I’m super happy with the end of certification and lovely wines at the same time.

This domaine is now starting to export to UK’s Wine Society.

The wines…

For the vintage, this domaine produced super 2021s – they have done it again in 2022 – well done !!

These wines were bottled November – new, lighter bottles with 100g difference – from 2022 all certified organic:

2022 Beaujolais Blanc Les Jumeaux
The lieu-dit near Château des Jacques – ‘lots of clay so when it rains you don’t go in these vines.’ A small volume from these young vines, 12 months in barrel – none new.
Plenty of colour. Broad, faintly oaked, round ripe fruit. Generous, some oak flavour – a little caramel too. Quite long. Certainly tasty.

2022 Fleurie
We’re looking for crunchy fruit from this wine.
Large-scale and spicy fruit. Mouth-filling, layered, concentrated wine. Slowly mouth-watering through a modest tannin. Graphite minerals in this finish – clean and subtly long.

2022 Moulin à Vent Les Thorins
Whole cluster with cement elevage
A sweeping width of aroma – that’s very attractive dark fruit, almost black. Super deep but here is flavour with energy – ooh that’s a great wine! But what a baby – keep 5 years – bravo!
2022 Moulin à Vent Champ de Cour
1.2-hectares. Here in the bottom, plenty of frost – a large part not harvested.
Not quite as much colour – but still plenty! A more elegant width of pure aroma – nice. Also lots of wine but here, there is a bit more fluidity and accessibility to the flavour. You might drink a glass of this today and what a beautiful, almost haunting finish – also great and less waiting required despite only being 100m from the last.

2022 Moulin à Vent La Rochelle
Again, 1.2 hectares. ’12 months in barrel for this – our bestseller!’
A silky nose but less open. In the mouth this is supple and with a more forward tannin that brings much velour to the texture – slightly drying – but in 2 years it should be fine. Only a very faint barrel note in the finish – very discreet! Lovely wine but wait!

2022 Morgon
A change of aromatic register, deep and broad, slowly growing some bkack cherry notes. This is directly juicy and energetic – also a little dryness from the grainless tannin and a juicy sucrosity that makes you come back for more.

2022 Juliénas
On the hillside on blue stone.
A nice freshness and very attractive floral. In the mouth no space is spared — large scale, juicy again , fine flavour, almost peppery. Thats going to be another beauty but like all of these you should have a couple of years of patience.

Agree? Disagree? Anything you'd like to add?
