Raphäel on 2022:
“2022 was my third year of organics, so maybe I can use that as an excuse for 32 hl/ha! I started harvesting on the 25th August and finished on the 02nd of September. 11.9° was the lowest – for the white – but Funambule was 13.2° I’m very happy with them – no frost, no hail and the dryness wasn’t so bad – despite some areas of young vines. The only stress was during the fermentations but after the recent warm years, I cool to about 18°C so that the fermentations don’t start too quickly.”

Raphäel on 2021:
More complicated! Lots of rain – 29 hl/ha in organic conversion – I think I can be happy with that. I did about 9 treatments but small doses – 12-12.8° – so the maturity was actually very good. The fermentations were very fast and very easy. No Gaia in 21 I want really good ‘in-tact’ grapes for that cuvée – the skins were not strong enough in 21. I normally have about 8 cuvées but in 21 just 4 – 3 reds and a white

2021 Beaujolais-Lantignié La Savoye
There have been a couple of bottlings, this was from the last in October, after the harvest.
A slightly tight nose but clean and hinting at its complexities. Wide, ultra-silky – fine red fruit and gorgeous silky texture. Slowly melting with a modest mineral energy – A beautiful BJV

2021 Regnié La Ronze
This a tank sample – maybe ready a bottling in Spring
A little more open – still airy and fresh but more floral. Direct, modestly tannic – a wine that’s properly structured. Fine, that’s a lovely finish too. A wine of more structure – wait two years – it will be worth your patience.

2021 Morgon Les Charmes
Medium-plus colour. Open, airy style – redder fruit and flowers. Extra depth to this flavour – so easy to see – open, less overtly structured. A peak of finishing flavour – really such clarity about the differences between the wines – a faint frame of, a tiny grain, of tannin in the finish. Simply excellent wine.
