Frédéric had a course so I tasted with Antoine who had just been with the domaine a few weeks:

The wines…

Very steady, very well-made wines in 2021 – and like many in Lantignié – no green notes!

2021 Beaujolais Villages Lantignié Granit Rose
A broad width of aroma – faintly spiced. Supple and silky – there’s clarity of flavour here, quite a mineral extra intensity in the finish. A wine that’s a little strict in the finish today – despite a very fine texture -. so give it 12 months in the cellar

2021 Beaujolais Villages Lantignié Pierre Bleu
More depth to this nose – a suggestion of low sulfur reduction. Direct, extra tannin, not grainy, sweeping flavour also a little strict but with invigorating energy – that’s lovely. Juicy finishing too – super wine.

2021 Beaujolais Villages Lantignié Les Vergers
This on the bluestone next to the chateau des Vergers. 12 months elevage in barrel – essentially 228s right now but have some 500-litre barrels for higher wines which will probably trickle down to these wines too – ‘but I’m only buying 1 or 2 per year!’
Also a hint of reduction for this wine – but it’s still broad and inviting and slowly shows a beautifully pure fruit. Again, clean, slightly tannic, but pure and energetic – this is excellent wine – lovey – you could drink it today but better to wait – a more fluid performance here and oh-so impressively finishing.

2021 Regnié Aux Bruyères
Third vintage. A small layer of alluvial soil and then rose granite.
Also a nose of fine depth – a slightly cushioned impression. Broader in scale, a hint less strict and with lots of juicy flavours – actually I prefer the previous wine – but this is almost as good today. Broad and persistent in the finish too – also excellent.

2021 Chiroubles Les Terraces
Only small volume of this in 21.
A nose that starts quite tight – slowly a little perfume lifts from the glass – but not a lot! Broad, mouth-filling wine – quite mineral – and very juicy – in style. The tannin arrives later in this one. Similar volume and energy to the last, quite long finishing too – a little more structural here. Just a little less characterful in this case – but a super wine.

2021 Morgon Corcelettes
A more perfumed nose – a suggestion of barrel too in this one. Less volume but a more vibrant profile – the structure is evident but not too hard – this is Morgon! – the finish, like the nose, accented with the creamy barrel. Very good!

2021 Beaujolais Villages Lantignié Cuvée Harmonie
The blend of granite rose and pierre bleu – elevage for 12 months mixed.
Deep colour! There’s a tight core of darker-coloured fruit aroma here. In the mouth, it starts a little disjointed with some gas and tannin but slowly relaxes over the palate becoming more composed and juicy. Perhaps some oak in the finish but anecdotal – long finishing. A wine not in place today – I’d be waiting 2 years
