Rémi last year on 2021:
2021 was actually not bad. We weren’t touched by the frost and not much by the hail. A little from the maladies but the volume was okay.

The wines…

As always, I tasted a mix of vintages – but all are bright and fresh wines. Delicious wines, in fact the pink one was brilliant!

2021 Brouilly
Floral, attractively perfumed. Juicy, accessible, pretty floral-red fruit. Just a far too delicious wine – Bravo!

2021 Brouilly Boldness
Extra freshness – nicely direct this one. More gas and so more energy – also a juicy wine – for gulping. Extra vibrant finishing – ooh – this is excellent – some parts are better than the last, the finish, for instance!

2022(!) Beaujolais Villages Prémises
A mix of all the parcels – just 2-3 weeks in bottle
A little more colour. Nicely direct but a little more cushioned at the edges than the 21s. Fuller more weight, round, a little fizz, slightly darker fruit. Finishing with a growing base of slightly grained tannin. Very good.

2022(!) Brouilly
3 days in bottle
A calmer, wider, redder nose. Lovely energy and freshness – faintly tannic but with no grain. That’s a lovely wine again – growing juicy in the finish – more than excellent!

2022(!) Côte de Brouilly
Fine, fresh red energy – similar to the 21s. More concentration, fuller, a little less energy – only a little – fuller finishing, a little less juicy – but only a little. Super wine…

2022(!) Les Grillons de Beaujo
An interesting pink blend of cinsault and grenache
Bright and fresh – fresh is the word for these wines. Hmm – round, juicy fruit – ooh – that’s something you will drink FAR too quickly – what’s a great wine? Finishing so well too. Well, if how fast you drink it is any measure – here is one!

And le White:

2022(!) Laurence & Remi Dufaitre, Beaujolais Villages Le Blanc
A faintly spiced more apple-inflected nose. Large scale, lots of energy – but quite rich too. A powerful wine – good but my least favourite of all – one had to be!

Agree? Disagree? Anything you'd like to add?
