Jérémy on 2021:​
“21 was complicated – we had days with a lot of rain – and a lot of days with rain! We are organic so it was hard to deal with all the weeds – then there was the frost and the black rot – so less than 20 hl/ha was the result. It was often too cold for mildew, too wet for oïdium so black rot took their place! The only positive for black rot is that it does it’s own triage – the affected grapes drop and the rest are fine. 11-11.5° is a change after the recent vintages though. I have 5 cuvées – normally – two I didn’t make and 2 are sold out – I was frosted in Mouin à Vent and also in Juliénas hence I didn’t make those cuvées.”

Always super wines but only one left at the domaine this year.

So, a very quick tasting – the image of Jérémy with the only 21 he had!

2021 Juliénas Patte de Velours
Bottled at the end of October.
Direct and pure – almost a little cushion to this nose. Silky and broad – a slowly growing tannin that adds some velour to the texture – hence the name! That’s an excellent wine – fine.
