Sebastien on 2020:
Nothing from 2020 is bottled yet. It was a growing season where it was easy to work in the vines. Not just a correct volume at harvest – it was a good one – certainly with 2021 following where we lost 50% – the frost took away a third and the hail took the rest…

The wines…

A mix of 20s and largely not yet bottled 2019s – largely delicious too.

Sébastien is testing some DIAM with the 2018 and 2019 vintages, and he’s not yet convinced. He might also try the new version of Nomarcorc:

2020 Mâcon-Fuissé Vers Chânes
About 1 ha of vines in the south of the appellation, near Chaintre with only stainless-steel tank elevage – to bottle at the start of next year.
Nice aromatic freshness and good middle concentration – it’s an invitation. Some gas, good volume, really a super line of flavour from the middle to the finish – where it’s very attractive!.

2020 Pouilly-Fuissé La Raidillons
A mix of parcels – near the church of Fuissé – making a long elevage. Half tank, half barrel, then assembled.
A less direct nose, some roundness but it’s clearly not fully open. More mineral than the last – more meltingly mouth-watering too – ooh that’s really good – I can almost forget the CO2. Great finishing with a little phenolic touch.

2019 Pouilly-Loché Au Bûcher
Will be bottled only at the end of this year
This nose is currently apple-oxidative – the wine’s not been sulfited since the malo – will get some just before the bottling. Extra mineral – with lots of energy. The gas is strong again but the mouth-watering flavour still impresses.

2019 Pouilly-Fuissé La Raidillons
Bottled 1 month only. “2019 had a number of areas that were frosted but the higher vines not – maybe less than 20% losses so given the frost that we say I have to be satisfied with that”
Fine freshness – easy and elegant. Direct and rather classy in the mouth – some structure but never hard and a fully delicious width of mouthwatering flavour. Excellent wine.

2019 Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles-Vignes
Not yet bottled – a single parcel of south-facing vines but on altitude – 12 months in barrel then 12 in tank.
Faintly reductive but also an attractive width of aroma. Super mouth-filling shape – not dense but with elegant and slowly melting flavour. Delicious finishing – another excellent wine.
