Short and sweet – as always, reliable wines from this producer…

2019 Mâcon-Cruzille Les Genèvrières
There’s a depth of round, riper fruit – almost cushioned. Quite direct – unexpectedly after the nose – faintly reductive too – even though there’s not much left in this bottle. The finish is super. This is very good wine.

Les Rouges:

2018 Bourgogne La Myotte
All pinot.
That’s a forward and quite fresh and impressive, very faintly smoky, nose. Nicely direct, a modest tannin in the core of the flavours then clean and easy finishing on a nice line of flavour. That’s simple but also delicious.

2018 Mâcon-Cruzille Beaumont
All gamay
A broader, more complex nose – faintly spiced – that’s lovely. Really mouth-filling with freshness – becoming mineral, graphite-mineral – in the finishing flavours. That’s a bigger wine than the pinot – delicious too.
