Françoise on 2023 & 2022:
2023 – oh yes, very happy – but we had to be vigilant when it rained at the start of the summer – but I was so happy with the quality. Nothing is bottled in 2022 yet the first year biodynamic certified – Demeter! The wines are currently assembled in tank and continue their elevage – they were racked into tank just before the harvest.

The wines…

The typically classy range from this producer – at least one of their Pouilly 1ers – if not both – with the potential to be great wines.

2022 Mâcon-Fuissé Les Tâches
A shy nose but there’s some width. Nice direct style, the fruit is ripe but not too sweet. Easy and delicious finishing.

2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles-Vignes
A more open and vibrant aromatic. Some gas here. A faint grain of tannin too. Mouth-filling with a shimmering energy that frames the flavour. Holding a super finishing weight of flavour – really persistent, a micro-grained finishing tannin on the tongue – simply delicious and I have the feeling, long lasting too.

2022 Pouilly-Fuissé Le Pierre à Canard
This touches the previous parcel of Les Tâches
A more floral and more forward width of aroma. Gas again. Good volume and an impressively growing intensity – again with a small shimmer of energy to these flavours. Broader, cleaner finishing flavour – that’s so good!

2022 Pouilly-Fuissé 1er La Vigne Blanche
Again a very calm nose – but with width – some suggestion of minerality at the base and floral at the top – sandwiching the fruit. A little more direct, certainly more a wine of clarity and fluidity of flavour. The best finish – this is achingly good – simply excellent wine – maybe better than that!

2022 Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Les Reisses
Some ripeness of fruit – a suggestion of lime in this citrus mix too. Hmm, a wine with obvious structure – width too – but this shape starts to appealingly melt over the palate. Almost a prickle of extra complexity – but not from gas – just a potentially great wine!
