Emilie & Laurence on 2022:
2022 wasn’t an extraordinary volume – we did a small amount of VCI but it’s not a year of volumes like in 2018 – we are very happy.

Emilie & Laurence on 2021:
We have some parts with heating cables and vs the neighbouring vines the difference was night and day – these parts made almost a normal volume! We managed 50 hl/ha so we have no complaints compared to other areas.

The wines…

Fine and classic in 2021.

Currently, it’s all ‘technical corks’ of Trescases just at the moment – there was a time with DIAM but then one cuvée had a problem and the bottler and DIAM were blaming each other and it was really difficult to get a resolution – so today it’s just Trescases… There are also plenty of screw-caps in use at this domaine too. ‘Both work well, it really depends on a particular market’s acceptance.

2021 Petit Chablis
Nicely perfumed not a large nose. Nice width, some ripeness – almost a sweet-sour style to the energy and driving flavour, – nicely saline finishing too – that’s very good!

2021 Chablis
It was a December bottling for this one
Here’s a bit more floral and riper fruit. I like the extra shape/structure – and faintly stricter style – finishing beautifully floral, less saline Than the PC

2021 Chablis Vieilles Vignes
From Chaumes here in Maligny – planted by father – now a little more than 50 years old.
A broader, more spiced nose. Extra incisive – pure, mineral – a lovely direct style to this – again with some floral finishing notes. Lovely – just like the nose to open a bit more.

2021 Chablis Demoiselles
A single parcel selection – planted in 1986 – south-facing vines.
Floral but here with very fine mineral clarity – lovely. Lovely energy – clean and wide – juicy and with plenty of finishing salinity. Elegant yet proper Chablis.

2021 Chablis 1er Fourchaume
Also wide, floral but exquisitely perfumed – this is a beauty – slowly broadening with a little lime citrus. More density but still a nicely fluid style to this flavour. Long finishing – this is very good…

2019 Chablis 1er Homme Mort
Nice width and more obviously mineral. Cool and mineral in the mouth but with nice depth to this texture. This has a lovely fluid finish – it’s not a big wine but it’s very young though – I’d give it 3-4 years before returning. Fine freshness to this wine.
