Adeline on 2021:
“Not as bad as 2017, we had 39 hl/ha and no maladies.”

Overall I love the clarity and intensity of flavour this year. Structured, though not particularly saline today but really high achieving.
2020 Chablis
Nicely vibrant nose – mineral and lovely, almost petrolly. Mouth-filling, again vibrant, always mobile. Tasty finishing – just excellent and especially long!
‘Similar terroir to Côte de Léchets, but a bit more argilles blanches. Otherwise, it’s the same exposure, 400 metres as the crow flies.’
More floral – thats great. A small grain of tannin – so mouth-watering, thats a great one!
2020 Chablis 1er Cote de Léchets
Fuller more airy width of aroma. Again lovely, becoming more floral. Wider, more relaxed on the palate, growing more intense – starting easy but then asking more questions of you. I like this, really excellent!
‘Actually its Forêts but I didn’t want confusion with the similar label of Vincent Dauvissat,’ says Laurent.
Airy again, a little more depth to these aromas. A little rounder, more tension, more growing structure, impressively intense in the middle flavours, concentrated but never dense. Finally, wide finishing and holding really well.
