“A low volume vintage for us. We probably did have a little effect from the frost but the flowering was definitely not the best. The wines are concentrated but the concentration in the grapes also concentrated the remaining acidity too so – fortunately – the balance is there!”

A great white AND a great red – and what value here too!

Hmm – that’s a very elegant, faintly floral, nose. Round, beautifully fresh energy despite plenty of concentration. A great finish that keeps getting wider and wider. That’s great aligoté!
2019 Mâcon-Chardonnay Claude Seignuré
Also of modest intensity but still a good width of aroma – it’s very inviting. Fuller, lots of bubbling energy. Widening – always delicious – super wine!
2018 Mâcon-Serrières Les Monterrains (Rouge)
On a granitic sandy soil – all destemmed.
Bright red berry fruit with more serious minerality below. Ooh, that slips into the mouth far too easily – fresh, complex, delicious crunchy fruit – easy – such excellent wine!
Clays with much older vines, longer elevage and some oak included.
A darker colour, a deeper nose. Bigger, more concentrated and of-course, more tannic. But the energy and depth of flavour are fist class. Give this 2 years – you will be rewarded – the last of the fruit having a little floral lift to it! Bravo!
