Marie-Elodie on 2023:
“In 2023 we did 40 hl/ha – I’d like that every year but I usually have 25 hl/ha. But the market is okay for me – if I made more I could sell it.”
Marie-Elodie on 2023:
“Just one 22 is bottled right now. In 2022 we had a little hail – less than in 2023 though! That said, in 23 maybe we would have had too many grapes without the hail – perhaps 60 hl/ha without it. 22 though was a dry and sunny year – I work with 100% wc which helps me keep the freshness in the wines but we are spectators not actors!”
The wines…
These wines are such beautiful babies…
2022 Fleurie Madame
A large-scale nose – growing more and more perfumed – slightly spiced too. Incisive, fresh then widening over the palate – holding a strong and rather mineral finish.
The following won’t be bottled before the harvest or commercialised before 2025:
2022 Fleurie La Dot
All whole cluster but not carbonic like the last
That’s a large-scale wine and becoming ever more perfumed in the glass, almost menthol. Wide, juicy, fluid really an impressive depth of graphite-mineral infused middle and finishing flavour.
2022 Morgon
Really airy and perfumed – the flowers are strong with this wine. More direct more juicy – then panoramic in finishing width – sappy, concentrated finishing but then fading faster then holding a more haunting note.
