On 2023:
I think everyone is happy with this year’s vintage – and I’m really happy!

On 2022:
Of course, there was more than in 2021! Not much is bottled and what is is not yet on the market. It was our second vintage of conversion to organic. A quite easy vintage and not much triage was required.

The wines…

You will always find tasty, well-made wines at this address – 2022 is no exception!

2022 Bourgogne Pinot Noir
Two parcels from the Ladoix commune – one actually classified as villages. Bottled end of August – we needed the space for the 23s!!
Dark fruit seemingly quite silky too. Round, delicious very faintly grained with tannin. I think this is excellent. The last drops in the glass smell quite lovely!!

2022 Côte de Nuits Villages La Montagne
Almost the limit with the Hautes Côtes.
Direct, vibrant, dark fruit notes. Much broader, subtly grained with tannin but completely ripe. Really wide in the finish.. That’s really a super wine…

2022 Ladoix
Les Marnées and Les Vris assembled. We harvest this later it needs time to ripen.
Hmm – a finer, more floral nose – that’s very lovely. Direct, a hint of structure, broadening over the palate – there’s a lot of class here – super wine – simply excellent, indeed great for €20!!

2022 Ladoix Les Carrières
More width and concentration. Seriously concentrated darker red fruit. Super texture, a litte velour with layers of fine flavour. Slowly fading with a hint of minerality. A beauty!

2022 Ladoix Le Bois Rousseau
Almost 1 ha – This bottled
Large scaled, dark fruit with some graphite character. More mouth-filling – a little less impact – the trade-off is more complexity. Hmm and complex, juicy, finishing too. A lovely broad wine of open interest here.

2022 Ladoix 1er Les Basses Murottes
A more silken weight of fine fruit. Mouth-filling, generous, again juicy but with a fuller shape. Comfortable and delicious wine – yum!

2022 Ladoix 1er La Corvée
Direct south-facing vines, over 60-years-old. The age of Vincent’s father, planted by grandfather and grandmother. Bottled 1 week
Dark, narrower but more intense and with vibrant aromas. Like the nose, there’s a direct style to this wine – the most overtly juicy of these so far. Broadening in the finish – tasty, indeed delicious wine of super energy – yes!

2022 Aloxe-Corton
Old vines in one part plus some a little younger – 3 parcels – Les Caillets, Morais and Valozières
Lots of colour. A nose of cushioned direction and hints of floral perfume. This is quite panoramic in width. The grain of tannin that supports it is more visible but this is not a drying wine. Layered in the tasty finish too – that’s lovely – really quite deep finishing! The last drops in the glass smell wonderful!!

2022 Aloxe 1er Cru
2 parcels – 80% Valozières
A little extra freshness of width here. Direct, modestly structured – the tannin grainless here but with a hint of dryness today – I faintly see the barrel too – but wait two years it both it and most of the tannin will be invisible . Super shape and great flavour…

2022 Corton Les Hautes Murottes
It’s turned white around here, but Vincent wants to keep his red. Possibly the only producer of this wine right now.
A smaller but fine and perfumed nose today. More direct again, freshness and less drying than the aloxe 1er. Properly Corton structured but with austerity. That’s got a beautifully complex and perfumed finish too. That’s very lovely…

2022 Corton Bressandes
To be bottled in January
Here is aromatic power – volume, maybe less finesse but what an invitation! Full but not heavy, there’s fine generosity of complex, delicious flavour and some easy fluidity to these flavours too. That’s large-scaled and completely delicious – super wine!

Les Blancs:
The whites are to be bottled in 2 weeks:

2022 Bourgogne Aligoté
Old vines (70)
Direct and very aromatic. Tank elevage – sleek, structured but no rigour here. It’s very good aligoté with a very wide finish – long too!

2022 Bourgogne Côte d’Or Chardonnay
A rounder, larger nose. Direct, slightly mineral wine. Growing wide over the palate. A hint of juiciness and finishing structure – that will be super Bourgogne in another 6 months…

2022 Ladoix
North-facing vines here ‘something of an advantage in recent years’
Narrower but precociously fresh and inviting. The most silky wine so far. Melting great flavour over the palate – much more sophisticated and completely delicious – lovely villages wine.

2022 Ladoix Hautes Murottes
This is a mix of villages and 1er cru areas
Here is some more airy width of aroma. Extra direct, faintly oaky – give it a year, preferably 2, to fade – a little saline too – my least favourite finish as the oak is much stronger here.

2022 Ladoix 1er Basses Murottes Blanc
Just a few rows of white in here. The only bottler since 2016…
A finer and more focused width of aroma. Incisive, clean, adding layers of flavour. Filling, growing in the middle and finish.. Now that’s a super wine, with much extra finishing width and salinity.

2016 Corton-Charlemagne
These last three wines are all very close geographically, but not so from the taste. From a parcel in Hautes Murottes.
Extra width of aroma again – lots of freshness and finely divided complexity. Fresh and wide – fine boned structure. Fading, narrow but long – that’s lovely but wait 2 years for it to open out
