Profile: Domaine Robert Arnoux (Vosne)
Sandwiched between the vineyards of Vougeot and Nuits you might expect a vineyard to produce a rather rustic and concentrated wine, one to make the hairs on your chest curl – if you have them… It’s interesting then that this is the home of the most fabulously expensive… Read More
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti: 2005 Update (2002s)
Of the various Domaine de la Romanée-Conti tastings I’ve enjoyed, I would say that the one run by Martel, agents for the Domaine in Austria and Switzerland, seems to be about the best. Anyone who is a customer of Martel could attend – they just need to pay the… Read More
2002 Romanée-Conti Grands-Echézeaux
There’s a little haze to the wine from this bottle and slightly paler colour vs the Echézeaux. The nose has a little extra lift vs the deeper Echezeaux, also shows an extra creamy edge. This wine really distinguishes itself by the intensity of its finish vs the previous two reds. Read in the Note Finder
Round-up of wines tasted

Romanée-Conti 2001: The purest expression part 2
Subtitled: Marvelous Montrachet Always nice to have a second bite at the cherry, particularly when the cherries concerned are the wines of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. This tasting was admirably run by Martel; agents for the Domaine in Austria and Switzerland. And what a tasting it was. Around… Read More
Profile: Méo-Camuzet & their Clos St-Philibert
The Clos St Philibert is a 3.5 hectare vineyard within the boundary of Flagey-Echézeaux. At an elevation of just under 400 metres and sitting some 120 metres higher than the Vosne vineyards that it looks down on, it is classed as a Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. Follow the narrow track… Read More
