Boisset Jean-Claude

2009 Boisset Jean-Claude Ladoix Les Hautes Murottes

By billn on January 25, 2011

Deep and round – quite some energy to the aromas. Fuller and more concentrated than the Chorey, yet has the energy to be quite lithe. Lovely flavour of fruit in the mid-palate that fills out more as you enter the finish. Really this is very, very super.

2009 Boisset Jean-Claude Aloxe-Corton Les Valozières

The nose is full and dense – dark fruit aromas. Also full and concentrated in the mouth, with lovely acidity. A big wine – but is sold out!

2008 Boisset Jean-Claude Clos de la Roche

Aromas of understated creamy fruit – it’s very nice. It has a wide, sweet, acid-led personality that just about balances, the fruit is beautifully precise. Very sneaky length.

Darker colour. The young, dark fruit shows a mineral depth. Depth to the fruit on the palate too – actually it really penetrates – super dimensions of fruit! The structure is abundant but takes a backseat to the fireworks – excellent.

2007 Boisset Jean-Claude Fixin Blanc

10% pinot blanc in the mix. There’s a width of tasty fruit here – and some extract too. A ’small wine’ after the Clos Blanc de Vougeot, but a good wine.

2008 Boisset Jean-Claude St.Aubin En Remilly

Harvested quite late and just 2 weeks in bottle. High-toned aromas. Quite full-bodied, but it seems reasonably balanced. Very good intensity in the mid palate and also its fruit-led finish – bravo!

2008 Boisset Jean-Claude Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Dominode

By billn on April 14, 2010

From a plot originally planted in 1901 – just 3 barrels. A little spice and herb complexity to the dark nose. The tannin is fine and just a little sticky. A dark, pure, intense and quite wiry personality before it heads into the long fresh finish. Always first class this wine…

2008 Boisset Jean-Claude Beaune Bressandes

By billn on April 14, 2010

An impressive depth of pure red fruit on the nose – a 2008 rarity! Like the Dominode there’s plenty of structure, but it’s balanced by precise dark red berry fruit. Long, very fine and pure.
