The nose is stylisticly similar to the ‘Les Clos’, though perhaps a hint more savoury. The palate is a little fuller but not quite so muscled, the acidity currently prickles on the tongue. The finish is a match for the ‘Les Clos’.

A mix of red berries and an additional darker aspect which seems to be from the oak. Ripeness, intensity, lovely acidity and a creaminess to the fruit that covers the slightly grainy tannin. There is some oak flavour but it’s not overdone. Lingers well on the tongue – as usual it’s an easy ‘buy’ recommendation.

One third of new oak used here. There’s a little more of a savoury edge to the nose on this. A hint of sweetness and some fat texture play against the acidity. Then there’s a nice burst of interest on the mid-palate and a lingering finish. Considering this has been in bottle on 3 or 4 days, this is rather good.
