A good mix of aromas including an edge of dark olive. Ripe fruit coats the tongue – the structure is buried by this. Balanced and showing a good length. Another good villages.

Medium, medium-plus colour. High-toned, little obvious oak, clear, jellified red and black fruits. This has a lovely silky texture. Behind is understated acidity and a nice length. Far from the depth and complexity of the 2004 and just a hint less ripe. At a decent price it’s a nice buy and a very elegant version of Nuits.
2006 Mischief and Mayhem Nuits St.Georges
Bottled in March, this is almost an equal mix of wine from the north and south of the appellation. Medium
colour. Mineral-edged cherry fruit and some floral, violet notes. Well-balanced acidity and tannin melds
with good fruit. There is a little tannin clinging to the side of your mouth, but it’s supple and ripe.
Just a suggestion of coffee on the finish. This is a good villages.

A fresh and forward, though initially slightly diffuse nose of predominantly red fruit – becomes more interesting and ‘coulis’ in style in the glass. The concentrated palate strikes a masculine pose. Good acidity and intensity too. The finish is a good one, there’s nothing wimpy about this rather ‘honest’ bottle of Nuits. Recommended.
