2009 Javillier Patrick Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée Forget

By billn on May 17, 2011

Forward aromas with hints of wood. Round, enough acidity though and quite some mid-palate concentration. Quite a distinguished length.

2009 Ramonet Noel Bourgogne Chardonnay

By billn on May 17, 2011

Round, understated aromas slowly evolve some pretty high-toned notes. The palate is the same but has a nice density – quite rich – a little more acidity would be appreciated by me, though but it’s still tasty wine.

2009 Dubreuil-Fontaine Bourgogne Aligote

By billn on April 08, 2011

The nose is quite high-toned for the grape – some apple and pear rather than the more common savoury notes. Full and, actually, rather long finishing – if anything it might e a bit too full, but a good start to the day!

2009 Gagnard Jean-Noël Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune

By billn on April 08, 2011

Already bottled way back in August – only 12 months elevages with about one-third new oak. There’s a hint of oak wrapped up in a little reduction. Slowly opens but never fully showed its potential while I was shortly with the glass.

2009 Lamarche Francois Bourgogne

By billn on April 07, 2011

Dusty cherry aromas. Good acidity, likewise the fruit is beyond expectation for the label. The tannin is a little harder but this is very young – super Bourgogne.

2009 Mischief and Mayhem Bourgogne Chardonnay

By billn on March 25, 2011

Medium yellow colour. High-toned ripe fruit with a hint of flowers. Clean and fresh, with a hint of savoury flavour plus a little soft texture. Starts a bit neutral but slowly leaches a little character. Nice finish.

2009 Mischief and Mayhem Bourgogne Pinot Noir

By billn on March 25, 2011

Forward, bright pinot fruit edged with floral aromatics. Faint, fine tannin. Quite supple with good flavour. You can certainly enjoy this today for what it offers. Very good for the label.

2009 Maume Bourgogne Rouge

By billn on March 21, 2011

There are 1 hectare of Bourgogne vines are within the commune of Gevrey next to the Gevrey villages lieu-dit of Platières. Round with really good flavour. There’s some tannin of-course and a strong, slightly bitter finish.
