Blanc. Deep aromas – almost winey! Full, much more interesting flavours than the Champs-Claudes and delivered with quite some authority. Good wine.

In bottle for 1 day! A lovely, easy, pretty 2009 nose. Full, round and with plenty of of supple structure –perhaps there’s even a hint of coffee (or maybe I just need a coffee!). No doubt, very nice wine.

2009 Roulot Guy Auxey-Duresses 1er

A blend of two premier cru vineyards; Les Duresses and Grands Champs. Also a little reduction. More richness and a lovely freshness. Good fine tannin. I find this lovely.

2009 Chavy-Chouet Meursault Les Genevrières

More aromatic depth with some green herbs. Concentrated and showing good acidity and intensity. In the middle this is quite mineral before a slightly savoury finish. This is very good – I like it – no ‘old-style Genevrières flab here!

2009 Chavy-Chouet Puligny-Montrachet Les Encegnières

The nose has a width of aromas, initially just a little diffuse but focus improves in the glass. There is lovely attack and a smooth texture. Just enough acidity – this is lovely.

2009 Jomain Marc Puligny-Montrachet Perrières

In bottle for about 1 month. This is wide and concentrated – actually the concentration sneaks up on you – there is much more here than I first thought. Not quite the focus of the 2008, but that could be the recent bottling. There is good balance, though after the acidity of the 08s I’m left wanting more.

Very fine, more floral aromas. A little riper fruit flavours and more complexity. The flavour slowly grows, but grow it does…
