A few words from Matthieu on 2016…
“Had some frost, and normally this cn be dealt with, but was seen in more places than normal – actually a little snow and then next morning was iced. Volume is about 30% of a normal harvest. Beru viviers really hit by frost. Courgis Prehy had hail… good yoelds in gcs up to the max allowed in some places…”

A few words from Matthieu on 2015…
“Style is rich and with a fruity character, Our aim was to keep acidity… Only one is for sale right now, the grand crus are not yet bottled.”

The wines…

2015 Chablis
Open, ripe but with a fresh nose – green fruit. Yes, this is rich, textured, slightly fat but with a nice layered approach for such a level (AOC). Nice dry material in the finish too.

2014 Chablis 1er Les Lys
Shimmering minerality after the last – just a little darker aroma, almost reductive below. Lithe, beautiful acidity, growing in the mouth. That reductive element here too, but delicious…

2014 Chablis 1er Vaillons
A hint more cushioning and open, a little less reduction. More direct and fresh yet becomes rounder on the palate too. Cleaner finishing – even better… very floral finishing too.
2014 Chablis 1er Montmains
A more subtle nose. Very mineral but with a rich, citrus and complex base. Super. I like the finish of the Vaillons more, but only that…
2014 Chablis Blanchots
An open but modest nose, vivid in the mouth, complex and energetic, faintly saline. Lovely lingering flavour. Bravo!
2014 Chablis Les Clos
The nose is modest, but has a super complex and freshness – a suggestion of agrume reduction – modest but beautiful. A massive ball of energy – the intensity just keeps going up – a super weight of finishing flavour too – bravo!
2014 Chablis La Moutonne
A fresh an weighty nose, faintly oaked, slowly adding an agrume reductive element. More considered, layered, mineral. Super finishing. Beautiful.
