Like most (relatively) recently bottled wines, these show a little less amplitude that from their assembly tanks at the end of 2016. But still a nice result that, in the short-term, will only get better and better…
2015 Bourgogne Blanc Les Dindes
Grapes from the commune of Santenay, but none villages-rated – they’re from the other side of the road!
A faint reductive toast on the nose. Wide, good freshness, growing flavour intensity – pretty good!
2015 Santenay Sous la Roche
Wider, fresher more airy – more direct, more mouth-wateringly intense with a suggestion of oak. Delicious, excellent wine.
A little tighter nose, with a more musky depth. Equally intense as the last, but with finer texture and nice waves of finishing flavour. Bravo!
Les Rouges…
2015 Santenay Temps des (Ce)Rises
30% whole cluster.
Big bright, and yes, fine, fresh cherry-fruit. Nice in the mouth with a little structure, but melting over the palate. Very open and tasty wine.
2015 Santenay 1er Beaurepaire
60% whole-cluster fermentation.
Here a nose of more depth and less width – less overt but more complex. Much more depth, extra weight of flavour and finer texture too. Layered, faint finishing bitters, just a super wine – wait a little, but it’s already very attractive.
