Claire on 2015:
Hail on almost all our parcels – we were really in the centre. It was the first harvest in new cuverie, and nothing was ready as we had been expecting to start 1 week later. We did manual harvest to save the important stuff and fortunately we had a lot of help from neighbours too – it was really appreciated. Still, we lost at least 60%. We also took out the Blanchots vines for replanting after the harvest…

The wines…

The usual great showing!

2014 Petit Chablis
Bright, vibrant and alive – nice mineral clarity. A ripeness at the core – modest and fine, sweet mouth-watering acidity – a lovely mini-Chablis here – really tasty!

2014 Chablis
A very faint reduction, wide and mineral. A little more intensity, lovely mouth-watering sweet acidity – just a hint floral. Really another level of finishing intensity – very lovely…

2014 Chablis 1er Montmains
All but the old vines included here.
Just a hint more salted – good, fresh aromatic width. Here there’s a lovely width of faintly salted flavour – there’s more overt minerality here, but nicely packaged and nothing aggressive. Just very tasty wine. Really super finishing waves of flavour – excellent.

2014 Chablis 1er Vaillons
A vibrant nose with a discreet depth of reduction. Starts very mineral, growing richness of flavour, some ripe fruit but really this is a wine of minerality, a fine line of tasty mouth-watering flavour. This just gets better and better in the mouth…

2014 Chablis 1er Mont de Milieu
Here is a rather discreet, almost tight nose – pretty, pure citrus fruit at the core. Wide, lovely clean minerality, slowly growing complexity of almost spiced flavour. This just get wider and wider – really contemplative and very slowly fading in the finish. Very tasty if slightly discreet wine. Yum!

2014 Chablis 1er Montmains Vieilles-Vignes
From 55 year-old vines, from Butteaux.
A nice width of fresh aroma, accented with floral notes. Large, more intense more dimension, more of everything but remaining very tasty and with no sharp edges. Super, mineral and agrume finish. Excellent! Lovely persistence too..
2014 Chablis Blanchots
A nice fresh width, precision too – but like most here, rather reticent aromatics. Really wide, wonderful movement over the palate, complex, involving wine. A delicious but still mineral character without excess weight or texture. Discreet but super long. Pure Chablis – bravo!

2013 Chablis 1er Montmains Vieilles-Vignes
More open, rounder, riper, sweeter nose. Rounder in the mouth, more richness of texture. Tasty wine but really not the same. Very tasty wine – why not drink it right away!
