Apparently made in a ‘hyperoxigenated’ way. Medium yellow. The first aromas are high-toned over a base of fruit that reminds me of pinot blanc. In the mouth it starts a little spritzy but slowly became softer in the glass. Blind, I didn’t guess aligoté. Reasonably long, relatively light bodied but with good balance.

2006 Roulot Guy Bourgogne Aligote
Maybe it was because I was just back from a 10 mile run, but this is/was a wonderfully refreshing drink. Soft and high-toned. Perfect balance and reasonably concentrated in the mouth – the acidity plays wonderfully across the tongue. On the negative side it’s rather simple for its price-tag – all the Roulot Bourgognes are priced above their quality level now – but it is a super drink.
2001 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Aligote
Medium yellow. The nose is deep with a little width. The fruit impression is of a rather rubbery banana effect – actually better than it sounds. The palate has some density, very good acidity and (once more) the banana/rubber theme – this time with the rubber in the ascendancy. Interesting to drink on it’s own but a little wearing, however, this wine really complimented a wide range of dishes – truly a food-loving wine. Interesting and very good value at €20 in a restaurant (Ma Cuisine).
