Narrower aromatics, but super fruit which is ripe but not too ripe. Mouthfilling, again with ripe fruit

that is set against background tannins that still try and cling to your teeth. Very good acidity (not

acidified) and some mineral hints. Really fine for the vintage.

This comes from 2 parcels of vines. There’s a creamy depth to this super nose. Concentrated with a nice volume in the mouth – again it’s very structured but there is balance and an engaging length. Quite an impressive bottle.

A more effusive nose, only slowly becomes more coherent with red fruit coming through. Lots of vigour and concentration though retains elegance. Great balancing acidity and nice texture to this wine. It’s very long, though without the creamy edge of the villages Gevrey. Very nice.

Again a deep ruby with no fading. The nose is very meaty and starts just a little reduced – with time red fruit comes through and griottes too. The palate is fat with very good tannins and good acidity. The finish is medium plus length. Today I’d rather drink the Argillières but long term this Epenots could be the favourite. Very good.

Good deep cherry colour with hints of purple. Nose starts very closed, though a hint flowery. Develops to give nicely defined red berry fruit with a darker undertow of prune. The palate is fat with very well covered acidity and tannin. Though only medium length, this wine is really opulent. It doesn’t want to come out to play just now, but given time it should be fabulous. Wait at least 3 years to re-taste.
