Bichot Albert

2003 Bichot Albert Pommard Les Arvelets

By on November 30, 2008 #asides

Medium, medium-plus red – again with just a hint of cherry-red. The nose is deeper with a savoury, meaty aspect. The acidity is just a little prickly, but this fades with time. The tannins are ripe and there’s decent length and balance.

2003 Bichot Albert Beaune 1er Cru

Medium red, still some hints of cherry. High tones that are reasonably fresh. The tannin is a little drying and the acid is a little sharp – certainly far from seamless.. Not a great balance here.

2006 Bichot Albert Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Peuillets

The concentrated nose is deep, dark and forward. A really nice balance here between the fruit and the structure, and with lingering flavour. Plenty of character, so worth looking out for if well priced.

2006 Bichot Albert Nuits St.Georges Les Crots

Darker coloured with hints of purple. Just a little tight aromatically but there’s a dark fruit base. . In the mouth there’s ripe fruit set againstlots of fine, slightly astringent tannin. A faint, fading finish is borne on the good acidity.

2004 Bichot Albert Gevrey-Chambertin Les Corvées

By on February 28, 2006 #asides

A négociant wine which is a blend of villages and 1er cru grapes. Medium colour. A fresh and wide nose – quite interesting. In the mouth the wine is not fat, but has both depth and concentration. A nice pure example of ‘Villages’ value.
