This 25 hectare domaine was began by Daniel in 1971, aided by his father and grandfather. It is now his two daughters, Emilie and Laurence who run the domaine, though Daniel still enjoys lending a hand. About 60-70k bottles are commercialised here, the rest is sold to negociants in bulk. Their exports are similar in proportion to what they sell in France.

Elevage here is in a mix of enamel and stainless-steel tanks, the aim being ‘to keep the minerality and freshness of Chablis.’ Screwcaps are available for those that order them, but mainly the domaine uses DIAM closures.

2013 Petit Chablis
“In bottle for just 3 weeks. 2013, in general is not a problem for quality, but certainly quantity.”
Very fruity. Round in the mouth with good ripeness and fresh citrus acidity. This is very tasty and accessible PC!

2012 Chablis
An assembly of 3-4 parcels, ‘Some round, some mineral – we are looking for an easy to enjoy wine.’
It’s a modest, faintly citrus nose. Round with a very nice texture. The mid-palate has nice density and concentration. The acidity is understated, yet ample. Fine and tasty.

2012 Chablis Vieilles-Vignes
A single parcel of 40 year-old vines.
A nose of lemon and lime skins. More energy, freshness and a growing intensity. Really lovely flavour – we have a winner!

2012 Chablis 1er Fourchaume
From a 4 hectare block of vines.
A little waxy and with more aromatic depth than the previous VV. There’s also a little floral impression too – lovely. A little richer but also with more obvious acidity and width of flavour. Very good complexity and lovely length.

2012 Chablis 1er Homme Mort
Also a slightly waxy nose. Wide, and shows just a little extra density and minerality. This shows really well as you head into the mineral and very long finish. In terms of size and scale, I find this a little ‘Les Clos’ in style. I think this will be really super, but their Fourchaume is the tastier drink today.
