François was filtering when I visited – preparing for bottling the following week – just the Bourgogne was already bottled.
François on 2021 versus 2022:
“2021 was the pits – we had less than in 2016 – our Genevrières and Charmes weren’t touched in 2016 – everything was touched in 2021. In the end, I made 15,000 bottles in 2021, compare that to 40,000 in 2022 – which is still not pletoric, as there are a lot of missing vines in our 8 hectares. These 2022s will be ready for bottling in November.”

Always – so far – delicious wines at this estate. Lovely wines…
DIAM for the aligoté and part of the Bourgogne, but cork for the other wines:
2022 Bourgogne
Good aromatic width, containing a hint of green citrus. Fresh, broad and attractive in the mouth – that’s a lovely village wine.
2022 Meursault Les Creots
Near Santenots.
A broader nose – a lovely nose – more complex too. Good structure, decent with power here – it’s very long too. I like this a lot.
2022 Meursault Le Limozin
More white flowers and vibrant zesty citrus aromas. Hmm – vibrant. Zesty finishing and concentrated too. I love it!
2022 Meursault 1er Les Charmes
‘From the bottom of the top and top of bottom’ – ie the middle!
More aromatic depth – but florals remain too. A more architectural shape, a wine that vibrates and offers sality and mineral finishing width. Suoer wine, tenaciously holding onto its finishing flavour. Yes!
Not domaine vines.
A small noble reduction, structural, precise, melting – ooh thats really great! Modestly strict and yum.
Hmm there is some kind of a harmony to this nose! Hmm, mineral, saline, complex. Mineral finishing – so long! Love…
2022 Meursault 1er Poruzots
Hmm, extra width of high toned citrus. Silky and broad, powerful but silky. Thats a simply beautiful Poruzots…

2021 Bourgogne
Slightly more exotic. Hmm, nicely generous, supple. Lovely finishing.
This VV includes grapes from Pellans, Corbin and Malpiorier. ‘The name of this is a little marketing but the customers like it. For me, 40 years is the starting point for old vines but some are 100 here.’
Hmm – a top floral note. Supple, mobile, sinuous, mineral faintly spiced great Meursault!
2021 Meursault 1er Les Charmes
A few days open (like those that follow) so more compact but not evolved. Concentrated, supple again, lovely juicy concentration.
2021 Meursault 1er Gouttes d’Or
Deeper, more layered nose. Larger scale given a more visible structure. Stable, wonderful finishing…
2021 Meursault 1er Genevrières Dessus
More open and airy. Very pretty. Hmm, layered, silky, ooh thats just so involving!
