Pouilly-Fuisse

2007 Ferret JA Pouilly-Fuisse

By on June 30, 2009 #asides

Medium colour. One third vinified in cask, the rest in stainless-steel and blended 2-3 weeks before bottling. Fresh, though not particularly high-toned aromas though just a hint of brioche. In the mouth there’s lovely freshness – it’s ripe but round and well balanced – there’s just a discrete richness. Mouth-watering length – a very nice entry wine.

A deep yet quite linear nose that eventually releases some nicely perfumed high tones. Again this is a little plump, but is a little less rich and has nicer balance for me than the bourgogne. Nice understated wine.

Medium golden colour. The nose is sweet, some high-tones, quite pleasant. Super acidity, good intensity and medium length. A lovely refreshing drink and no rush to finish – surprisingly good.
