2010 Mikulski François, Meursault Les GenevrièresJan. 2012
The nose is fine and rather lithe. Intense with lovely balancing acidity yet the intensity grows and grows. Top marks again.
2009 Mischief and Mayhem, Meursault Les GenevrièresNov. 2011
Toasted bread and yellow fruit aromas that tend towards the savoury. In the mouth this holds your interest with a good mineral undertow; perfectly balanced there are flavours of fruit and more stones but they only appear in the mid-palate. Long and lingering, the last drops in the glass offering classic Meursault aromas. Super.
2009 Gambal Alex, Meursault Les GenevrièresMar. 2011
The aromas are a little loose-knit after the Fixin. Silky texture, very good balance this is a graceful and lingering wine – yum!
2009 Chavy-Chouet, Meursault Les GenevrièresNov. 2010
More aromatic depth with some green herbs. Concentrated and showing good acidity and intensity. In the middle this is quite mineral before a slightly savoury finish. This is very good – I like it – no ‘old-style Genevrières flab here!
2006 Ropiteau Frères, Meursault Les GenevrièresApr. 2010
Warm ripe fruit against a deeper oak note. This is fat but has decent balance – though it’s disadvantaged following the 2008s. Very well put together and understatedly concentrated.
2007 Bouchard Père et Fils, Meursault Les GenevrièresDec. 2009
The aromatics have less impact than the Beaunes, but they are fine and overlayed by a suggestion of warm toast. Ripe and complex flavours, even some minerality. This is really intense in the mid-palate. A super bottle that is full of energy!
2004 Mischief and Mayhem, Meursault Les GenevrièresJul. 2008
Medium-pale yellow. Aromatic width with a lovely sweet brioche and faint citrus notes. This fills your mouth with wide citrussy acidity and a super length. Lithe rather than fat and very moreish!
2006 Bouchard Père et Fils, Meursault Les GenevrièresApr. 2008
Wide, deep and forward aromas of cream-edged fruit and brioche. Light in the mouth, fresh yet flavour-packed. An additional dimension of flavour in the mid-palate and a good finish. Very lovely.
1997 Jobard Francois et Antoine, Meursault Les GenevrièresAug. 2007
Medium yellow. A narrow, tight nose. Well balanced and tasty but suffers a little after the ripeness of the Lafon, holds a very good length though.
