2009 Boisset Jean-Claude, Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes RoisJan. 2011
From one-hundred year-old vines There’s a chocolate width to the nose. Lithe in the mouth, perhaps a little CO2. Linear then a big burst of flavour – lovely.
2008 Boisset Jean-Claude, Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes RoisApr. 2010
Pretty, high-toned aromas of precise dark red fruits. There is grainy tannin but on a relatively low level. Cool, fresh fruit – overall very understated but confident.
1999 Tortochot, Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes RoisMar. 2006
Medium ruby-red colour. High-toned nose, traces of orange and fresh red berries. Fresh and intense palate with mouth watering acidity, still a little austere. Medium length. Almost good, but needs food.
2001 Geantet-Pansiot, Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes RoisMar. 2003
Medium-plus colour with some purple. Not an obviously pinot nose, perhaps a little reduced. Pronounced but velvetty tannin, soft centred. Could perhaps benefit from a little more acidity. Not bad though.
