Why Big Red Diary?
5 notes
2007 Chevillon-Chezeaux, Nuits St.Georges Les St.JulienApr. 2009
Medium cherry-red colour. A pretty nose of fruit and faint oak. Young fruit, tasty, slightly oaky in the finish but very good.
2007 Chevillon-Chezeaux, Nuits St.Georges Champs-PerdrixApr. 2009
A very nice, complex red fruit nose with hints of wood and vanilla. Fuller, silkier, more concentrated. Tannin with faint grain. Good dimension and length. Very good wine.
2007 Chevillon-Chezeaux, Nuits St.Georges Les BousselotsApr. 2009
A slightly deeper cherry-red colour. A core of pure cherry fruit. More tannin, more masculine in stance and very nice fruit. Fine, barrel inflected length.
2007 Chevillon-Chezeaux, Nuits St.Georges Les St.GeorgesApr. 2009
Medium-plus colour. The nose is deeper and wider but not quite so focused as the Bousselots. Super acidity and lots of very fine tannin. Long finishing with flavours of barrel and licorice. This will need lots of time but it’s very good and only €23 ex domaine…
2004 Chevillon-Chezeaux, Nuits St.Georges Les Bousselots (Blanc)Apr. 2008
Medium yellow. The nose starts with a forward brioche note before fading into a good if simple ripe fruit effect. There is some fat, but this wine is defined by a lovely spine of acidity – it starts just a little prickly but quickly smooths. Unlike many heavy and ponderous whites from the Côte de Nuits, I find this fresh and engaging.
