Monthelie looking towards Auxey-Duresses

Considering the wet, wet, wet forecast for this weekend, we had only a little rain during Saturday morning’s market. Not much sun before mid-afternoon on Sunday though – i.e. only after my camera battery expired 😉

a few producers – classic plus outliners

A modest bunch of producers visited this week. Really a wet, wet three days in Beaune, so not many ‘outside’ photos. A classic selection of Meursault, Volnay and Gevrey but with some outliners from St.Romain and Auxey. The rest of the time was spent trying to sort out a move of apartment in Beaune – […]

week 3 of bo-jo-lays 2015 visits…

The last, lucky, producers who were unfortunate enough to host me to taste their 2015s! There will be more visits/tastings to look at specific crus, but that’s enough for February’s report – now to finish January’s report – and that will be at least 5 days more work!

The poor, unlucky group of producers that had to put up with me this week 🙂

It was just a shame about the electricity cables!

well that was a quick change!

well that was a quick change!

Last month in Chablis, my visits were largely in a window of -3°C to -12°C. This week in Beaujolais, Monday/Tuesday p.m. temperatures were about 12°C, and I’ll admit to having used the aircon in the car at one, seemingly, stressful point as I struggled to find a domaine – often an address in no more […]

week 1 of bo-jo-lays visits…

A few faces from my first week of February visits in Beaujolais – and there are two more weeks to come. I’m sure you noted how quiet it was here last week – the internet in my Beaujolais hotel is basically non-existent – pff! Not much I can do about that, and it won’t be […]
