updated burgundy vintage chart – now includes 2013 vintage

vintage-2012

There, that’s finally done!

My updated Burgundy Vintage Chart now includes 2013 – though with ratings still in parentheses as it is still so young!

Agree? Disagree? Anything you'd like to add?

Thanks, Bill. I’m not fixated on vintage charts but do find them somewhat helpful as a guide. The vintage chart on your website is the most useful I have seen so far. If you were to update / add to the Rating of Burgundy Vintages Chart in the front inside flap of your “The Finest Wines of Burgundy” book today, how many stars would you give / how would your notes read for 2011, 2012 and 2013 red wines and white wines? Would you change the number of stars / notes you gave in that book for the red wines or white wines of any of vintages 2010-1990 if you were updating your book today? For example, both you and Clive Coates rated the 2008 Red Burgundy vintage quite highly compared to some other reviewers (you gave it 4 stars out of 5 in your book; Clive Coates stated re: red wines: “But what I would say finally – and this is not to denigrate the 2009s – is that I am convinced that there are some – not many but some – 2008s which are every bit as good, in their very different ways, as the same wines produced a year later. And I don’t think I am alone in holding this view.”). Would you give the 2008 red wines 4 stars out of 5 if you were editing your book today? I have found your book very insightful and have sourced many of the wines you have suggested. Cheers.
