2005 Dubreuil-Fontaine, Volnay
Dark colour. Concentrated red berry – so much so it’s like a sauce reduction. Clinical, clean lines – very linear but silken. Really good intensity and even an impression of flavour! Despite the note it tasted pretty good. Plenty more left for experimenting with the vintage over the next decade and a half!
Rebuy – Yes

“Impression of flavour”. Meaning still quite “closed”? I have some D-F P-V, think that will be even “tighter”?

      Hi Ed.
Yes tight for sure, but not by any means a lost cause or unenjoyable – that said, I did open it 3 hours before an left it in the cellar. I’d happily open another tomorrow.
      Cheers, Bill

    Ah D-F :- happy memories of Sept 2009 !

The village wine that’s c 50% premier cru (from 3 sites) Bill ? Mind if I ask what you might have paid, if only to highlight what I recall is the impressive qpr of this wine ? Seem to recall a couple of bottles of the 2006 at the domaine cost me 16 euros each.

      The very same Mark.
Hmm – as for price – I don’t remember what I paid – but the 07 and 08 from the same retailer cost 25 swiss francs per – but in unbroken 12s…
They are the swiss retailer on winesearcher – but it’s incorrectly noted as a 1er cru.
