Thanks for these Bill. Always enjoy your photos as almost the next best thing to being there 😉 .

Make me shiver even in ice bound Britain !

Any chance of any captions if not a too ott ask ? Recognise several but not others. Can see you’ve been in Pernand – did you visit D-F & if so how was everyone and the wines ? Christine’s newish Audi A6 Allroad I saw in September would be just the car in the wintery weather I imagine. Is the large property with outbuildings in the next to last photo the property in Morgeot across the vines from ‘Magenta’ ?

Maybe there’s a basis for a burgundy-report quiz in naming the locations 🙂

Had another bottle of what I think is one of your current fave B Blancs Friday evening – Alex Gambal’s 2008. Delicious. Latest bottle seemed a little different to my recllection of the previous one – not quite as much acidity and maybe better for it (loving acidity as I do).

Thanks Bill – that was quick !

I’d ‘got’ 9 of them in terms of knowing (or thinking I did) where the locations were. Should have recognised the road from Pernand to Beaune but the ‘snowy landscape put me off.

Never been to Givry as my excuse for not getting those photos.

Do you know who the lyre trained vines belong to ? Am always intrigued by different training techniques.

Wish I could pop over to Beaune for another visit to Alex G (without a major end of paulee hangover) to acquire some more delicious juice but no idea when I’ll likely get to the Cote again. Guess I might see Alex in London in January.

In terms of BdM your recent note on the 2000 C-C struck a chord as, without checking, am sure that was the wine I took to a wine-pages Ledbury offline earlier this year when I recall it showed in very similar fashion to your note. I loved it but it didn’t receive similar around the table enthusiasm. Must try another BdM wine soon – maybe over Christmas.

Agree? Disagree? Anything you'd like to add?
