1,500 and a brilliance of burgundies

11.10.2007billn

I’ll have to open a bottle (2005 Corton-Perrières looks the favourite) as it’s the 1,500th (day) anniversary of the Big Red Diary – hola! Anyway, today on the airwaves:

  1. A brilliance of burgundies – now why didn’t I think of that! Sounds Like the author was at the recent Corney & Barrowde Vogüé tasting.
  2. Rare wine finds to be uncorked; found in a brewery?

Tomorrow, visits in Fixin, Gevrey, Nuits and Beaune – I’m hoping for sunshine – even though I’ll be in cellars!

Agree? Disagree? Anything you'd like to add?

    Bill,

Many congratulations on the anniversary and thank you. Superb effort – a labour of love I guess ? Much appreciated here – log on to Burgundy Report daily a must do for this fellow ‘Burgophile’- right term ?
Read all the 07 harvest reports with keen interest, having worked the 06 vendange at Domaine du Duc de Magenta, Chassagne(thank you Amelie), very disappointed the banking day job meant I couldnt be on the Cote this time. Looking fwd to the 06 Burgundy London tastings January – secateur induced blood in some !!
What would I have given to be at that De Vogue tasting – one of my 3 single bottles of Musigny VV (95, 99 & 2000) to be my retirement day present to myself when that day comes around (in next 10 yrs if you are wondering !).
    Cheers
    MG
