The wines…
The 2014s were all bottled in March. Despite Sébastian finding the 14s more mineral, he’s suggesting to drink them young, rather than keep.
2014 Chambolle-Musigny
The assembled fruit of seven different parcels.
Bright, round aromas. Beautiful flavour, layers of interesting flavour, richness of flavour too. Yum!
2014 Morey St.Denis Aux Chézeaux
A tighter, fresher, clearly more mineral nose. Fresh, complex, lovely energy. Not simple, and tasty like the Chambolle – super! Just a little oaky finishing but yum!
The assembled fruit of 5 parcels.
Wide, deep, involving aromas – a simply gorgeous nose. Lithe, wide, good energy, the lightest of reduction but then its gone. Nose opens wider with flowers. Excellent!
2014 Nuits St.Georges Les Argillas
‘I think that this is my best villages wine, it seems like a transition between a villages and 1er, again with old vines.’
Wide, floral depth and general gorgeousness. More complex, lithe, a hint of barrel flavour, young wine, with super depth of flavour.
Deep, dark, some flowers on the nose too – wow! Wide, fresh, sweetly mouth-watering, and very long. Always a favourite!
2014 Morey Saint Denis 1er Les Millandes
The youngest vines of the domaine with 25 years old.
The nose offers a fine depth and faint spice too. Wide, a nice richness of flavour too. Some oak tannins in the finish. But a good finish. Yum!
2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Les Combottes
Three vine ages, 10, 25 and ‘very old’ next to Latricières-Chambertin – 75% new oak.
A more modest nose, but attractive all the same. Big in the mouth, lots of flavour, long, long, plenty of finishing oak spice but fresh too. This has the chance to be fabulous as the oak takes a back seat…
Very floral, fresh, high-toned. Fresh attack, intense, slowly mouth-watering, almost melting, a faint vanilla in the finish, but such a gorgeous baby.

2015 Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes
Two parcels, 50/60 year-old vines in the communes of Chambolle and Gevrey. 15 months in barrel on lees.
Quite floral. Soft, some sweetness, wide, tasty wine and with super length.
2015 Morey St.Denis Les Crais Gillon
From 60 year-old vines with 50% new oak.
Darker, deeper nose . Lovely fresh, layers of flavour, beautiful wine. End flavour is a faintly oaked today but brilliant all the same!
2015 Vosne-Romanée
From 2 parcels
Flowers on the nose. A little more dimension of flavour, a little stricture too, with some oak at the end. But lovely, lovely energy here. Still very early in its elevage.
2015 Nuits St.Georges Au St.Jacques Très Vieilles Vignes
A deeper nose, darker but slowly beginning to deliver some floral notes too. Larger in the mouth, very fine texture and beautiful waves of flavour.
2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Les Baudes
A deep and wide nose – but not fully formed. Super silky, layered, complex, a hint saline. Some oak in the mid palate, but really lovely only 6 of 18 months elevage – GREAT wine I think!
2015 Morey St.Denis 1er Clos de la Riotte
Effectively this domaine has the monopoly of these vines, but part is rented from the commune, and 1/3rd goes back to them for tastings et-cetera.
Dark, complex, beautiful. Beautiful again in the mouth, sweetness, no sign of its 14.5%. Super length too – like all these 15s, currently faintly oaked.
2015 Charmes-Chambertin
65 and 70-year-old vines
A deep, deep nose. Bigger and more mineral than those that have gone before. Great richness of flavour without lacking any balance. A mineral finish too.
