Pommard Clos des Ursulines

2008 Pavillon Pommard Clos des Ursulines

More spice and herbs on the nose. Higher-toned flavours, dark fruit brings lots of interest – a lovely burst of flavour in the mid-palate that follows the acidity into the finish.

Magnum. More ripe red fruid, this time with an earthy base. The flavours are more savoury and show a loveyl complexity in the mid-palate. Slowly fading, medium length. Nice.

Deep and wide aromas of red/black cherry mixed with a little cream. A little more tannin and and dark fruit (versus the Bichot Savigny) in the mid-palate. Good flavour and good length.

The nose is a little reticent, just deep understated fruit. In the mouth, smooth fruit amply covers the structure, but as the fruit slowly fades the structure slowly becomes more visible. Interesting wine and worth putting to one side to round out.

Quite deep colour. The nose is dense and a little tight – it needs a few minutes in the glass before showing its fruit. A soft and sweet entry; the flavours expand quickly across the mid-palate – lots of balance here. There ares plenty of tannins, but they melt well in the finish. This is a very tasty and fun wine.

A lovely floral nose – violets with a mineral undertow. Much more structure than the Bourgogne, very good acidity and mouth-coating tannins. The fruit is high-toned with lovely extension into the mid-palate – and further! A very stylish Pommard. Lovely.

High-toned nose. Real density without too much fat. Ripe, but in the best sense. Well structured with just a little earth on the tannic finish. Very, very young, I’d buy.

A little ashy earth and minerality on the nose, less forward than the 2003. Very good, wide fruity character, good length and well managed structure. Another good wine.
