Nuits St.Georges Les Bousselots

The nose delivers dark aromas, accented with coffee. Lots and lots of fine tannin but balanced by sweet, fresh, dark fruit in the mid-palate, though the fruit decays faster than the tannin so it’s the predominant finishing experience – I expect they will slowly fade to bring better finishing balance though.

A deep and impressively young colour – still some purple when many from the vintage are already browning! Very tight but nice fresh fruit aromas. A mouthful of width and plenty of tannin. The fruit is ripe though not obviously from 2003. I’m very impressed by this.

Deep colour. High-toned, slightly estery aromas. Wow – now that’s astringent – like sifting sand between your teeth. Good width of flavour but I find the flavour fading quite quickly. This is a toughie that will need some cellar time.

A slightly deeper cherry-red colour. A core of pure cherry fruit. More tannin, more masculine in stance and very nice fruit. Fine, barrel inflected length.
