A good, medium, medium-plus colour. The nose alas is a mix of cedary green and mushroom, there’s a pretty red fruit trying to peek through but frankly it’s drowned. In the mouth it’s nicely concentrated with good fat and a lovely red fruit base. The acidity is good but slides you into a finish where the green raises its head again. Such a shame.

Medium colour. The nose is dominated by that cedar-green note, it does slowly recede over 2 hours, revealing more of the ripe red strawberry fruit below. In the mouth it’s ripe and sweet, full of red fruits, a nice texture and a good burst of concentration on the mid-palate – but it’s also here that you can taste the green element. It’s soft, sweet and nicely concentrated, but with this level of green I can’t recommend it…

It’s tight, but this is still showing a lovely soft and complex nature on the nose. Lovely density and texture for a villages wine, a darker edge to the fruit here. Nicely velvet tannins that remain chewable in the finish. A lovely villages.

From old vines. Closed on the nose. Bigger in the mouth, good acidity and nicer tannins – a little more structured than the village Vougeot. Again from the mid-palate the fruit really shines – should be a really nice wine.
