Long-Depaquit

2009 Long-Depaquit Chablis Le Clos

A hint of saline yet understated. Full, slightly warm and round. Flavour-packed, the acidity seems low yet with just enough balance for a fabulously flavoured finish.

Also understated, the aromas are just a little finer – perhaps a little development though. Wide, with an energetic burst of flavour. A real bundle of energy this wine.

Faintly riper aromas yet very similar to the last two. Cool with a big ‘well’ of flavour. Lingering acidity again edged by slightly chalky flavour. Very, very long…

Wider, higher-toned nose of concentrated fruit. A little extra weight and fruitiness and long mineral flavours, very long. This is really super.

Dense, tight fruit on the nose. Not fat, but there’s rippling muscle under the hood. More powerful in the mouth and the finish, though that finish is nicely mineral.

A more mineral rather than sweet nose – quite understated with faint brioche and hints of citrus. Likewise the palate displays understated power and real minerality – super depth. What fruit shows itself is very ripe but pretty much hidden under the structure. Really fine acidity pushes a wonderful length. Really excellent.
