Jadot Louis - Duc de Magenta

1978 Jadot Louis - Duc de Magenta Chassagne-Montrachet Clos de la Chapelle

(Rouge – pre Jadot) Musky, deep, leafy aromas. In the mouth it’s a beautiful impression; grainy ripe tannin, absolutely mouthfilling, full of flavour and very, very long. This is just so much better than you might expect a Chassagne rouge has any right to be. A wow wine!

Young pale gold colour. Lots of oak on the nose but it fades slowly to reveal forward and high-toned fruit. Nice mouthfeel and excellent finishing intensity. The wood is obvious, but doesn’t spoil the overall effect. Not obviously mature, a very good wine.
