2010 Marchand Pascal Chambolle-Musigny

A lovely nose with a waxy impression and aromatic depth – very fine and pretty. The flavours are mineral and elegant – structure like fine bone china. There’s a little coconut oak in the finish – I’d be looking for that to fade, but this is a little beauty.

2010 Marchand Pascal Morey St.Denis En la Rue de Vergy

The nose offers up a depth of creamed red fruit, darker than the Chambolle but also rather refined. The acidity is a little more obvious but it’s cemented to good intensity, smooth tannin and a mineral length. Love it!

2010 Marchand Pascal Meursault

Wide, pungent aromas. The texture is padded but very well balanced and supports plenty of mid-palate flavour that follows through perfectly into the finish too. Excellent villages and less overtly oak flavoured than the reds.

Spice bread on the nose. A width of beautifully balanced flavour. Not many words needed here – super wine.

Higer tones on the nose with that characteristic, almost soapily clean 2010 nose. In the mouth this is more intense and bubbles along with more acidity than the previous wine. Just a little more length of finish aided by the acidity. Yum.

2010 Roy Marc Marsannay Champs Perdrix

A wine that hardly ever goes through malolactic fermentation. The nose is direct and mineral, showing hints of pineapple and very faint toast. Silky, with a little fat yet a little spritz on the end of your tongue – here is the malic acid I think. Faintly creamy flavours. Quite pretty…

2010 Germain Henri Meursault

From two parcels; racked once, just before the harvest. Very pretty high-toned aromas that are supported in the manner of classic gingerbread Meursault. Fresh and involving despite a level of understatement – at least relative to the nose. The flavour holds beautifully.
