Leflaive

2009 Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet

Finer aromas and tighter, better defined flavours. Very good acidity, more linearity but very easy to drink. – sweet ripe fruit flavours come as afterthoughts.

Another high-toned nose. In your mouth there’s a little more width and interest if not concentration compared to the bourgogne. The length is certainly on a higher level. A very nice wine for sure.

A creamy nose with faint coconut. Nice concentration and acidity – even some minerality. This is a very good wine but I have to say poor value.

Today this wine shows more modest oak on the nose than the Bourgogne Blanc – but still hints at Puligny. There is concentration that’s well coupled with the acidity and medium-plus length. Not so outstanding at this level as the Bourgogne at its, but this is a very good bottle.

Pale gold. Quite an understated nose of white flowers, peach and grapefruit. A more intense fruit experience than Leflaive’s bourgogne, still a little oak and almost good acidity. The finish is longer than the Bourgogne too. For best effect, I’d suggest leaving this for 2 or 3 years while you drink the Bourgogne!
