Pernand-Vergelesses Les Fichots

2007 Dubreuil-Fontaine Pernand-Vergelesses Les Fichots

The nose offers soft fruits and seems a little textured in its own right. Good intensity of flavour counterpoints a more obvious level of structure than the last wines. Tasty.

Medium, medium-plus colour. The nose goes much deeper than the ‘Clos Berthet’ and shows a darker fruit complexion. There’s much more concentration and structure here and the breath of flavour seems much wider. Again a hint of chocolate on the decent length. Very nice.

All the corks are branded with bottling date, in this case week 47, 2008 (47.08) – so the week before my visit. Medium, medium-plus colour. a dark nose of nice fruit. Plenty of background tannin that is overlaid with lovely fresh fruits that linger well in the finish. Should be a good buy.

Medium-minus ruby-red – quite a nice colour in the glass. The nose starts rubbery and and toasty – not very nice – takes well over an hour to lose the rubber, still has some toast, but becomes just a little sweeter. The fruit is reasonably sweet, little tannin but the acidity is forward and tart. Just about drinkable.
