Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets

2009 Ramonet Noel Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets

It’s a high-toned if relatively tight nose. Lovely texture, minerality and a crescendo of intensity – this wine is an absolute honey!

Medium-pale lemon yellow. The nose is crystal clear and accented with faint creamy vanilla – very absorbing. Gorgeous balance with an intense core of mineral and fruit that lingers long in the finish. This wine is taking over the evening with a vituoso performance. Lovely

The nose is more detailed with that background of Chassagne herbs. Lovely freshness – wide yet very mineral. Super-intense. I find this absolutely lovely!

Understated, plenty of green herbs though seems just a little tight. This is also very silky, the acidity is more forward and really makes your mouth water – a chalky minerality too.

Aromatically this is about more delicate fruit and a mineral finesse. The acidity is slightly forward but it underpins lovely fruit flavours and a hint of mineral savouriness. Very long finishing. Very fine wine…

Wow – don’t often drink from a jeroboam! Medium-pale yellow colour. The nose is understated but relatively fine – gives the impression of being very young. The palate has lots of interest and character – just as important, appears very well integrated. A very nice personality to this wine.

Medium-pale lemon yellow. Drunk after the villages Encegnieres the nose on this is much more subdued, dense and creamy. The palate is instantly more explosive, higher concentration and length. This is very primary and linear and I expect it will need at least 5 years to really start singing. A super wine.

Lovely nose, nicely integrated. Plenty of acidity but slightly harsh. The palate has good intensity but comes across a little bland. Almost good only.
