Remoissenet Père et Fils

2007 Remoissenet Père et Fils Meursault Charmes

Aromatic width and some density. Likewise there is a depth and density to the palate that is beautifully balanced by the acidity. Lovely penetrating intensity into the finish.

2008 Remoissenet Père et Fils Beaune Les Grèves

There’s a core of tight red fruit on the nose. This has plenty of tannin but also is underpinned by lovely fruit. Well-judged acidity too.

2007 Remoissenet Père et Fils Chambolle-Musigny Les Echanges

By billn on October 12, 2010

Concentrated fruit aromas – more jammy, yet also complex with an undertow of something much prettier. Lots of width. Today the tannin texture is a little intrusive, but the flavour is very good. Good length and tasty, but this is a wine that needs 5-10 years to come together.

1992 Remoissenet Père et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot

From a jeroboam with dinner! Golden but not oxidised – savoury, biscuity. Much more mineral and muscular than I expected – no ‘ample’ 1992 here – complex, balanced and very satisfying. I ‘needed’ 3 more glasses…

2007 Remoissenet Père et Fils Beaune Marconnets

High tones of warm, ripe red fruit, hints of coffee. Sweet, fills your mouth with red fruit, raisined inflections and a hint of petillance. Long, and in contrast to the upfront fruit, the flavours are more mineral. A (heart) warming wine.

2005 Remoissenet Père et Fils Mercurey Clos Fortoul

By on November 30, 2009 #asides

Medium-plus cherry-red colour. The nose starts with a little mineral, some herbs and slightly cola-esque top-notes, but slowly a very, very pretty and slightly creamy red fruit note comes through. In the mouth there’s decent concentration, good acidity and some ripe, grainy tannin. Not fat but it’s a lithe impression. Faintly lingering. The structure hints to Nuits, but the fruit not. An interesting wine that has the balance for a long, profitable life.

2007 Remoissenet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers

By on March 31, 2009 #asides

The 07 is just a little soft-focus due to the fresh oak showing on all aspects of the wine; nose, palate and finish but it is ripe and creamy with just a hint of astringency – should be a lovely, precocious drink but personally I’d wait 1+ years for less barrel influence – not too much to learn about Cazetiers at this age.

2005 Remoissenet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers

This 2005 is an architypical 05 right now; tight, acid-forward and a world away from the lush, mineral density of 12 months ago. Clearly more intense, but then there’s no obvious oak putting a soft focus on the acidity. Needs to sleep.

1999 Remoissenet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Cazetiers

By on March 31, 2009 #asides

The 99 was fresh, full and ripe – started with a hint of mustiness on the nose but that soon disappeared – good intensity and length. This really surprised me as other 99’s I’ve had from the producer have been dull and unfocused. Still an astringent edge to decent teannins. Young, and whilst far from a great Cazetiers, it is verily a tasty beverage.
