I really don’t buy Fourrier any more, it’s become just a little too expensive, but 1999-2005 it was on my annual purchase list. With sausage and rosti coming up, it seemed that this 2003 would have been just the job, but (my first for quite some time) it is completely and utterly corked.

We had a Bordeaux-Tasting on Saturday, out of 14 bottles one was corked (a 1990 Cos D’Esotunel, by all chance) We were kind of relaxed about it – after all, one bottle of 14, thats supposed to be normal. But our host said something very ture: You would never accept this in any other field. Imagine one out of 14 Ferraris would be broken, ot every tenth Apple computer would be full of viruses – not imaginable. Even if wine is a natural product, you wouldn’t accept it with Kaviar or Kobe-Beef, would you? Well. OK, the occasional spoiled Oyster, but still…
