more volnay for champy…

Announced first (as far as I can tell) by Bruce Sanderson of the Wine Spectator; Maison Champy have added a 1.25 hectare slice of Volnay to their domaine.

Full story here.

Agree? Disagree? Anything you'd like to add?

Do you have any experience with Champy wines?

My own experiences were not positive…

Quite the opposite from my side will – certainly 2006 onwards; biodynamic for the whole (domaine) estate and very pretty and transparent wines – even their 06 whites had zip. A long way from the oaky style of the late 90s. Better wines for the buck, or at least my buck than, say, Chanson…

The few times I have had the Boillot wines, I have really enjoyed them, particularly the 2005s. Hopfully, Champy will make as good a wine from these vines.
