offer of the day – raveneau 2007…

CHABLIS 1er Cru Butteaux 75cl 85.00 Swiss francs
CHABLIS 1er Cru Montée-de-Tonnerre 75cl 98.00
CHABLIS Grand Cru Valmur 75cl 188.00
CHABLIS Grand Cru Clos 75cl 268.00

I realise that these may be monuments in the making, but they will not be monuments in my cellar – oh, and just in case you’re tempted, the grand crus can only be bought with 1er cru purchases!

Agree? Disagree? Anything you'd like to add?

Wow some price on the Clos, I picked up Dauvissats Clos 07 for just over 50 Euro at the weekend (per bottle price)

I’d take that any day Will, €170 is something else…

Dauvissat’s wines, albeit wonderful when they are fine, have a nasty tendency to oxidize prematurely. In my experience about half the bottles must be poured out. This makes them twice as expensive as the asking price. Raveneau’s wines are much less prone to the pox, it would seem.

Certainly a lottery from the sound of it Ole – on reflection I take back my comment to Will above!
